BOISE, Idaho — Jordan Brown, a 28-year-old man from Nampa, was sentenced to six years in prison for possessing child pornography. He is charged with 10 years of supervised release, ordered to pay $12,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender, according to U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit.
Brown was investigated by multiple agencies starting in January of 2021, when the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a CyberTip. The organization gathers tips regarding "suspected online crimes against children and forwards them to the appropriate law enforcement agencies," the release stated.
"ICAC determined that a Discord account, later identified as belonging to Brown, had uploaded child pornography," a news release stated. "ICAC obtained a search warrant for the contents of the Discord account and located numerous files of child pornography within the account. ICAC later contacted Brown and interviewed him. During the interview, Brown admitted to receiving and viewing child pornography."
Police also obtained a warrant for the contents of Brown's cell phone. They found files of child pornography, evidence that Brown had distributed child pornography and evidence that Brown had engaged online with individuals who appeared to be children.
