Boise looks to become most livable city in the country

Boise released its bi-annual report highlighting and outlining the progress in ways the city is striving to become the most livable city in the country.

BOISE - The City of Boise is working to become the most livable city in the country. The City of Trees launching many initiatives over the years to help obtain that goal.

Every two years, the city releases its livability report to highlight and outline that broad array of initiatives that are working to enhance Boise’s livability.

The report, first introduced in 2015, helps the city measure progress and share stories and programs on what it means to live in Boise.

The report outlines how the city is working to achieve livability through seven community targeted goals: Safe and Secure Community, Healthy Community, Responsible Built Environment, Connected Community, Environmentally Sustainable Community, Strong, Diverse Local Economy, and Creative and informed Community.

The report outlines initiatives the city has launched to obtain each one of the targeted goals.

“It's pretty timely in the conversations we're having around the community about growth and what livability means. We hope this will help provide some context to that conversation about what we're doing here at the City of Boise in order to manage growth in this community in order to protect the things that make Boise so special,” said Boise spokesman Mike Journee.

The livability report is released every two years with the next one scheduled to be released in 2020.
