BOISE, Idaho — The boys of summer are back in Boise.
No, not the Boise Hawks (though they are in town for a four-game series with the Everett Aquasox).
We're talking about the Bronco offense vs. the Bronco defense in the annual Boise State Summer Softball Classic at Memorial Stadium in Garden City on Monday, June 24.
Offensive lineman John Molchon and safety Kekaula Kaniho will serve as the offensive and defensive captains respectively.
HIGHLIGHTS: 2018 Boise State Summer Softball Classic
The defense has claimed the title the last two years, including an epic win last year thanks to a nine-inning, walk-off home run by Nick Provenzano to score Avery Williams.
The event kicks off with the home run derby at 5:30 p.m., followed by the six-inning game.
Gates open at 5 o'clock.
General admission tickets are $5 and kids 12 and under are free.
A portion of ticket sales will go to the 'Team Harsin Program,' which generates scholarship opportunities for at-risk youth to participate in Treasure Valley Youth Optimist programs.
