'We're scared for her health': Family, Portland police searching for 71-year-old missing endangered woman

Ha Pham suffers from Alzheimer's disease and does not speak English.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau and loved ones are continuing to search for a 71-year-old missing endangered woman.

Family members say Ha Pham walked away from her home in the 900 block of NE 72nd Avenue on Friday around 12 p.m.

Pham suffers from Alzheimer's disease and may be confused and not know where she is or how to get home. She does not speak English, only Vietnamese.

"Definitely anxiety, we're just scared for her health," said Pham's nephew, Kiet Tran. "Since she's been gone she hasn't been taking her medication so I'm just worried for her."

Tran joined family and neighbors Monday, posting fliers with Pham's picture and information. They focused on the Mt. Tabor area and on Southeast Division Street near 82nd Avenue, places where Pham would often walk to. She also enjoyed walking to the Fred Meyer on Northeast Glisan Street but Tran said since the pandemic, Pham had been staying home.

"Hopefully someone has her and hasn't seen the news yet and is just taking care of her," said Tran. "We're just hoping we can find her soon.

Pham is 5'1", 110 pounds and was last seen wearing a black sleeveless dress. She was not wearing a mask. She also has shoulder-length graying hair.

If anyone sees Ha Pham, please call 911 right away. If anyone has information about her, please contact missing persons Detective Kristina Coffey at 503-823-1081 and missing@portlandoregon.gov.
