Driver dies after Caldwell rollover

CALDWELL - Idaho State Police on Wednesday said a Boise man injured in a rollover crash in Caldwell the day before died from his injuries.

Police said the crash happened at around 2 p.m. Tuesday on Aviation Way near Linden Street.

Fifty-year-old Paul Schoffstall was driving a 2005 Ford Focus in the left westbound lane of Interstate 84 near milepost 29.5 when he went off the left shoulder, went back onto the road and crossed over both lanes.

Police said the car then went off the right shoulder and rolled, coming to rest on Aviation Way.

Schoffstall, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ground ambulance to a Boise hospital.

ISP is investigating.
