BOISE -- The Idaho Steelheads' season is far from over, thanks to Wednesday night's game seven, 4-1 victory over the Allen Americans at CenturyLink Arena.
After going down three games to none, the Steelheads fought their way back to tie the series Tuesday night, forcing a winner-take-all game seven.
Brady Bassart scored the opening goal midway through the first period to give Idaho a 1-0 lead.
Tommy Thompson doubled Idaho's lead in the second period.
Allen scored early in the third period to make it 2-1
The Americans pulled their goalie late in the third period, but that move proved to be fatal as Jefferson Dahl and Jack Nevins took advantage, scoring within a few minutes of each other to secure Idaho's place in the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Idaho will face defending ECHL champion the Colorado Eagles this Saturday night in Loveland, Colorado.
