Snow might complicate the Wednesday morning commute in the Treasure Valley

Another round of snow is moving in. Boise could see around 3 inches.

Snow showers will fill in from the northwest Tuesday evening, continuing overnight and through the Wednesday morning commute.  With temperatures in the upper 20s for the valley, the snow will accumulate.  Generally speaking, we're expecting between 1 to 3 inches of snow to be on the ground in time for the Wednesday morning commute.

The lower Treasure Valley (Ontario, Caldwell, Nampa) may see closer to the 1-inch amount, with the upper Treasure Valley (Boise to Mountain Home) and Magic Valley closer to the 3-inch mark in spots. Mountain areas can expect between 3 to 6 inches of snow with this storm system.

WEATHER FORECAST: Winter weather advisory and snow in the valley by Wednesday morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which will go into effect this evening at 5 p.m. and carry through Wednesday at 5 p.m.  This type of advisory is typically issued as a "heads up" to drivers to prepare for winter driving conditions; slick roads, increased stopping distance, slower speeds. Plan for a slow-go tomorrow morning, and stay on top of developing details on-air and online.
