Coeur d'Alene eliminated from Little League World Series contention

WILLIAMSPORT, Penn. — Northwest Region champions Coeur d'Alene Little League were eliminated from title contention in the Little League World Series Saturday night.

Coeur d'Alene faced Southeast regional champion Peachtree City American Little League from Georgia Saturday night, and lost 3-0.

Coeur d'Alene will play in a consolation game against Spain Tuesday at 9 a.m. MDT/8 a.m. PDT on ESPN.

Peachtree City faces the loser of Sunday morning's game between the Southwest and Mid-Atlantic teams Monday night at 6 p.m. MDT/5 p.m. PDT on ESPN 2.

Friday, Coeur d'Alene and the Great Lakes champions from Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League in Michigan, were tied 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ryan Knable hit a single, driving in the decisive run for the Great Lakes squad, which won the game 5-4.

Coeur d'Alene is the first team from Idaho since 1999 to go to the Little League World Series.
