The Meridian man who had his wheelchair stolen at a Boise State football game in September is giving back in a big way after the community showed him so much support.
A donor purchased a new customized wheelchair for Nathan Ogden after the theft.
Ogden should be receiving it soon.
$22,000 more came in from others wanting to help the motivational speaker, who is a quadriplegic.
The money collected will be donated to the Wheelchair Foundation, a non-profit that gives wheelchairs to those in need around the world.
Ogden, along with his wife Heather, hope to raise even more money.
On December 7th, they are holding an event called "Chair the Hope." It will be held at the Waters Edge Event Center from 6-9 p.m. You can find more information here.
Ogden says he feels like it's always important to turn something negative into something positive.
"These least two months sitting in a chair that causes more pain it limits my ability to go and do things I want to do. It stinks. It's not fun," said Ogden. "It's been harder on my family and it's been harder on me. However, the good that's coming out of this far outweighs any discomfort I'm going through."
