Woman struck, killed while crossing Boise road

A driver hit a woman in her 80s around 10 p.m. Friday at South Cole and West Hummel, Boise Police say.

BOISE — The Boise Police Department is investigating a crash in which they say a driver struck a woman Friday night.

It happened just after 10 p.m. at South Cole Road and West Hummel Drive.

A preliminary investigation shows that a woman in her 80s was walking across Cole Rd. and was in the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle that was headed south on Cole. She was taken to the hospital, where she died as a result of injuries from the crash.

The Ada County Coroner will release the victim's identity once proper notifications have been made.

Boise Police say the driver, also a woman, is cooperating with the investigation.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

No charges have been filed.
