'We are just getting started': Paulette Jordan still considering her political options

The former Democratic nominee for Idaho governor spoke about her political future during the Boise premiere of the documentary, "Paulette."

BOISE, Idaho — When it comes to her future in politics, Paulette Jordan says she's still considering her options.

The former Idaho state representative and gubernatorial candidate spoke during a Q and A session Wednesday night at the Egyptian Theatre following the Boise premiere of a documentary called "Paulette."

The 22-minute documentary is about Jordan's historic 2018 gubernatorial race against now-Gov. Brad Little. She was the first woman to earn her party's nomination for governor in Idaho.

Since then, there has been some talk that Jordan might run for another office - possibly the US Senate.

We asked her about that Wednesday night.

"I do want others to know that we are just getting started, building off, catalyzing off the last campaign. We'll see where that leads us next," Jordan said. "Our ultimate goal is to activate as many Idahoans who felt so passionate about the campaign and the progressive ideas that we're presenting - protecting the environment, trying to secure the nature of the landscape of Idaho the best we can."

A member of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Jordan is currently leading an environmental campaign to save Chinook salmon of the Northwest from extinction, according to the Idaho Democratic Party.

She says she and her supporters are also working to register at least 100,000 more voters in time for next year's general election.
