BOISE -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash on the Flying Wye Monday afternoon.
The wreck happened at about 1:48 p.m. on the ramp from westbound I-184 to eastbound Interstate 84.
Idaho State Police says that a 2016 Nissan Rogue rear-ended an Idaho Transportation Department truck. The Incident Response Unit was eastbound on the flyover and responding to a traffic hazard when the crash occurred.
Police say 35-year-old Vanessa Oliver and her passenger, 75-year-old Margaret Peck, both of Emmett, were injured in the crash. They were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
At least one person had to be cut from the wreckage, according to dispatchers. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and airbags did deploy. The driver of the ITD truck was not hurt.
Two lanes on the outbound Connector were closed for about an hour-and-a-half. A tow truck removed the damaged Nissan and traffic was flowing normally again.
The crash remains under investigation.
