Two Ada County Highway District commissioners were sworn into office Wednesday morning.
“I’m excited, I’m ready to get to work,” remarked Commissioner Mary May after taking the office.
May and Kent Goldthorpe won election to the board in November.
Goldthorpe is now entering his second term as commissioner, and for May this will be her first term.
With the growth of Ada County, the pair knows there are a lot of challenges on the table, but they are ready to tackle them head on.
"I have a reputation of making things happen, I don't look at a anything as being insurmountable," May said. "It's a challenge. Bringing people together, I think that is the best way to get things done. First you listen, you figure out what the issues are, where you need to go, getting the right people at the table and moving forward."
Shortly after the ceremony, the commissioners got right to work with the first commission meeting of 2019.
