Tamarack Resort to offer free lessons at Gateway Parks in Eagle

Tamarack hopes the free lessons will inspire more people to take up skiing and snowboarding.

BOISE - Tamarack Resort wants to get more people on the slopes this winter, so they're teaching people how to ski and snowboard - for free.

To inspire more skiers and snowboarders, the resort is partnering with Gateway Parks in Eagle for several days of free lessons. Play It Again Sports is offering free equipment rentals as well.

Tamarack instructors will give coaching on the basics to teenagers and adults who are interested.

"We welcome everyone to come out, try it on, see if it fits, see if it works for them and continue their snow sports education and hopefully their snow sports passions with us up at Tamarack Resort," said Jake Bolin, assistant snow sports director for Tamarack Resort.

The free lessons at Gateway Parks will be on December 13, December 20, January 10 and January 17.

Tamarack is also hosting a free learn to ski day up on the mountain on Sunday, December 16.

The lessons are only for people age 13 or older, and you will need to register beforehand. Registration is available for the Gateway Parks lessons here, and for the learn to ski day at Tamarack here.
