Semi crash blocks Highway 55 for hours

SMITHS FERRY — A semi-truck hauling plywood crashed south of Smiths Ferry on Monday, blocking traffic on Highway 55 for hours.

According to Idaho State Police, Joshua Wilson, 38, from Kalispell, Montana, was driving south when he drove off the right side of the road, rolling the truck and flatbed trailer.

Wilson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.

Plywood and debris blocked the southbound lane of Highway 55 for approximately four hours. Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane while crews worked to remove the semi and debris.

Idaho State Police is investigating the crash.
