Salvation Army receives more gold coin donations in Ontario

The total value of the four coins is over $1,300.

An anonymous person donated a gold coin worth over $300 last week in Ontario, Ore. The person returned this week to donate three more gold coins in the Salvation Army red kettles.

The coins include a $5 gold coin, worth about $300, an 1895 $5 coin, a 1900 $10 coin and a 1915 Austrian gold coin.

The coins are worth a total of $1,388, according to Major Stephanie Bridgeo with the Caldwell Salvation Army.

This time, the person donated the gold coins with a special note attached to each one.

Each of the heartfelt notes was in memory of one of three family members, the person's son, daughter and father who have all passed away. 

The son died in 1989 at the age of 17, according to the note. Ronald, the father, died at the age of 84 in 2008. The person also wrote that they never got to know the daughter, Misty.

The donor wrote that they still love and miss each of them.
