Hotwire classifies a small town as a city with a population between 150,000-299,999 people.
The report analyzed 10,000 data points to rank the best places to take a spontaneous trip to. The main factors that the rankings were based on were value, convenience and things to do.
Orlando, FL was ranked as the number one small town getaway destination.
Salt Lake City was ranked fourth and Spokane, WA was ranked tenth.
