BOISE -- A Nampa woman was arrested after police say she showed up at East Junior High and made threats towards another person in the building.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Monica Walters-Wolfe, is charged with misdemeanor counts of stalking, disorderly conduct and resisting and obstructing.
Dispatchers described the incident as a "domestic issue" that appears to involve a staff member at the school. Officers were called out to East Junior High at 7:55 a.m., and the school was placed on lockdown.
"One of the parties involved was calling in threats, texting threats to the other person," Boise Police Lt. Stan Niccolls said.
The lockdown was lifted about an hour later after officers found Walters-Wolfe in her car inside the school parking lot. It's unclear whether she ever made her way inside the school. The woman was taken into custody at the scene.
"She didn't necessarily want to get out of the car, but after a little bit of convincing she came out without any physical violence," Niccolls said.
Niccolls said the threats were directed at one person, not the school in general.
Boise School District spokesman Dan Hollar said no one was hurt in the incident, and all students and staff are safe. The school day will continue as normal.
Officers searched the suspect's car - a maroon sedan - but did not find any weapons.
Niccolls said officers took the situation seriously, and called for the lockdown as a precaution.
"Anytime you have relationship issues that turn into threats, you never know which way that's going to go," he said. "We'd rather err on the side of caution."
Walters-Wolfe is due to appear in court Wednesday.
