BOISE -- Three piglets found running loose in Caldwell Tuesday are crying wee, wee, wee all the way home after their owner came forward to claim them.
Caldwell Animal Control Officer Megan Townsend said she responded to a report of loose piglets near Laster Lane and War Eagle Road at about 4:30 p.m.
At first, Townsend said, the trio was nowhere to be found. She was ultimately able to track them down in a nearby field after hearing their squeals.
The officer said the piglets were louder - and faster - than she was anticipating. After watching her attempt to wrangle the piglets, three Good Samaritans from the neighborhood jumped in to help.
Still, it took the would-be pig catchers an hour to finally get the animals.
Caldwell Police could not find the piglets' owner at first, so they were taken to the West Valley Humane Society.
The owner called KTVB Wednesday afternoon and said he was going to pick up the animals after work.
