NAMPA, Idaho — Northwest Nazarene University dedicated its new Conrad Student Commons on Friday afternoon. The new student commons area features several gathering places and study areas for students.

The building will also house the admissions welcome center, career development, dining services, and several campus organizations.

"We are very appreciative of all the people that showed up, and probably overwhelmed that as many showed up as they did," Carey Cook, the NNU vice president for Student Life, said. "But I think that's a testament to how much people care about this place. and we look forward to what it means for our campus."

The dedication of the new common areas is part of a weekend of homecoming activities and events at NNU.

On Friday night, the Nighthawks' men's basketball team takes on California-Miramar.

A 5K run-walk will take place on Saturday morning, NNU's fall play, " Inspecting Carol," opens on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., and the Department of Music will present a homecoming concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Brandt Center on Saturday.
