PROVO, Utah - A pilot who died in the crash of a small plane on Lake Mountain in Utah has been identified as an Idaho man.

Authorities say 48-year-old Tracy Paul Roesler of Nampa was the only person aboard the two-engine plane.

Utah County Sheriff's officials say the wreckage was found Friday in rugged terrain near the south end of the mountain on the west side of Utah Lake.

Roesler reportedly was working on a commercial photography project.

Authorities say he left Caldwell, Idaho on Thursday and intended to refuel in Provo before flying back home.

When he didn't return by Thursday evening, Utah County authorities were notified and a search began.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
