Micron employees give 1,685 turkeys, hams to Idaho Foodbank

They delivered their annual Thanksgiving gift on Tuesday.

BOISE, Idaho — 'Tis the season for giving, and Micron employees delivered their annual Thanksgiving gift for Idahoans struggling with hunger.

Micron gives its employees a choice of a turkey or ham each year. And since 2001, many have chosen to donate that food to the Idaho Foodbank.

This year, they gave nearly 1,700 hams and turkeys.

“It's just turned into one of those great traditions of generosity,” said Micron Gives manager Kami Faylor. “Not only do we partner with the foodbank strategically, around our basic human needs initiative for Micron, but our employees love the foodbank. They love volunteering here, giving here, and they love the way the foodbank can have such a big impact.”

The foodbank estimates that more than 200,000 Idahoans live at risk of going hungry.
