BOISE -- The Ada County Coroner's Office has released the name of a man whose body was discovered near a canal in Boise Sunday.
The victim was identified Tuesday as 60-year-old James Leland Smith. Smith did not have a permanent address, according to the coroner.
The body was spotted by a passerby beneath the Broadway Avenue overpass near Findley Street and Diamond Avenue.
Smith's cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, but Coroner Dotti Owens said he did not have any obvious injuries that could have resulted in his death.
Foul play is not suspected in the case, although the death remains under investigation by the Boise Police Department.
Investigators will conduct toxicology tests, which often take several weeks to produce a result.
