Lots of free Easter egg hunts around the Treasure Valley this weekend

BOISE, Idaho — Easter weekend has arrived, and many parents want to know where they take their kids for an Easter egg hunt.

Here are a few egg hunts that are free. You are recommended to bring a basket to collect eggs.

Community Easter Egg Hunt at Kleiner Park – The Capital Christian Center is hosting this event at the Meridian park on Saturday, April 20. It’s free and there will be hunts for infants, toddlers and children. The Easter bunny will make a special appearance. The first hunt begins at 10:30 a.m.

There will be vendors and other activities for children such as jump houses, face painting, a live kids’ show and a dance-off with the Easter bunny. Concessions and restrooms are available.

This event includes skydiving Easter bunnies. Skydiving begins around 12:15 p.m., and second show/hunt begins at 1:30 pm. This event lasts until 3 p.m.

Cathedral of the Rockies – Free Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 20. The hunt is at the church’s Amity Campus at 4464 S. Maple Grove Road. It starts at 11 a.m. 

Community Easter Eggstravaganza hosted by First Baptist Church –Family fun for all ages. There will be food, games, prizes and inflatables along with a special appearance by the Easter bunny. Age-specific hunts begin every 30 minutes. First hunt is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Admission is free. The church is located at 607 North 13th Street in Boise.

Eagle Christian Church – For those in Eagle, the church is hosting an Easter egg hunt with over 25,000 eggs hidden on the ball field of Eagle campus at 100 Short Road. All children are invited for a day of fun and revelry. Admission is free. The egg hunt is at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. For more info call (208) 286-0879.

Treasure Valley Church of Christ – The Meridian church will host a free Easter egg hunt at Fuller Park on Saturday, April 20.  The hunt is for walkers through fifth graders. It starts at 10:30 a.m. Fuller Park is located at 3403 W. Cherry Lane in Meridian.

Kuna Church of the Nazarene – The church is hosting an Easter egg hunt event for families that have children with physical or mental special needs. There will be several egg hunts starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20.

  • They will be offering a beeping egg hunt for children who are visually impaired.
  • A magnetic hunt for children with mobile restrictions.
  • A quiet egg hunt for children with sensory processing sensitivities.

And then a general egg hunt for kids ages toddler to 6 years old. 

There will also be a photo booth, miniature ponies and face painting.

Hillview United Methodist Church – The Boise church is hosting their celebration on Easter Sunday. The church is located at 8525 West Ustick Road and the fun begins at 9:45 a.m.  The Easter egg hunt is for ages toddlers to 5th graders only.
