A two-vehicle crash blocked lanes in Eagle April 9.

EAGLE, Idaho — Lanes have reopened after a head-on crash in Eagle that blocked the road for more than an hour.

The wreck happened at about 7:25 a.m. at Eagle Road and Highway 44. A white pickup truck and brown SUV collided, crumpling both vehicles' front ends and leaving debris strewn across the road.

Despite the severe damage to the vehicles, police say, the occupants suffered only minor injuries, and did not need to go to the hospital.

Both damaged vehicles have been towed away, and the intersection reopened at about 8:35 a.m. All lanes are now clear.

Recent rainfall has left some streets slick, but it is unclear if the weather conditions played a role in the crash.

The wreck remains under investigation, and police have not released which driver had the right-of-way when the crash happened.
