Kimberly man killed when motorcycle collides with car

A motorcycle rider collided with a PT Cruiser at an intersection in Twin Falls County Wednesday morning.

TWIN FALLS — Idaho State Police say Kimberly man died after his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle collided with 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser at an intersection in Twin Falls County early Wednesday morning.

Troopers were called at 6:29 a.m. to investigate a crash at the intersection of 3300 E and 3700 N.

Investigators say 18-year-old Cyrus Sandmeyer of Twin Falls was southbound in his Cruiser on 3300 E when he failed to yield at a stop sign.

Michael Mumm, 58, of Kimberly, was westbound on 3700 N and struck the driver's side of Sandmeyer's vehicle with his bike. Mumm died from his injuries on scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

Police say Sandmeyer was wearing a seatbelt.

The intersection was blocked for about two-and-a-half hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
