Keepin' It Local: Heart of Timber

Alex Jangard, the man behind Heart of Timber, takes woodworking very seriously and he loves bringing smiles to his customer's faces with his custom pieces.

If you're looking around your house, your apartment, your business and you feel like something is missing, look no further!

Alex Jangard, the creator of Heart of Timber, can whip up anything you'd like to put on your walls like a custom sign with your last name, an end table to rest a coffee mug or two on, or a table for six to create memories at during family dinner.

He started woodworking only two and a half years ago but if you've been to a couple local restaurants you might've seen his pieces and sat at his tables. One place in particular is The Stil ice cream shop in downtown Boise.

Jangard says he loves to use local wood because it ties in what his business is all about. His most popular order are signs in the shape of Idaho, but he's really enjoyed venturing into the world of home decor.

At first, he would only use his hands to create these masterpieces, but over the last year or so he's been able to invest in different machines to make the process a little bit easier. Jangard says one of his favorite parts is working closely with all customers to make sure their vision comes to life.
