Indian Creek Plaza in downtown Caldwell nears completion

Indian Creek Plaza will host four nights of regular entertainment every week throughout the entire summer.

CALDWELL - The city of Caldwell is hoping you and many others will spend more time in the Canyon County seat this summer, and beyond.

The $7.3 million Indian Creek Plaza is just two months away from opening.

It's designed to host concerts and outdoor entertainment in the summer and an ice skating rink in the winter.

The ice rink won’t open until this winter but summer events kick off this July.

Starting July 10, every Tuesday the plaza will host an outdoor concert, Wednesdays are yoga nights, movies on Thursdays, and Friday live music and games.

All events are free, except ice skating, with food, alcohol, and other beverages for purchase.

Executive Director of Destination Caldwell Wisti Rosenthal says restaurants and breweries will soon occupy the empty storefront surrounding the plaza.

"You know a lot of plazas say they are the living room of the community so we think Caldwell is more like a farmhouse, a warm farmhouse with bread cooking and that sort of thing, so we thought well the plaza is the front porch of Caldwell," said Rosenthal.

Indian Creek Plaza will have its grand opening July 14, called Plaza Palooza.

There will be a giant splash pad, waterslides, music and food.
