Woman survives after car plunges into Snake River

The crash happened Tuesday morning near Swan Valley, Idaho.

Police say the woman in this car managed to escape and swim to safety.

SWAN VALLEY, Idaho — Idaho State Police say the driver of this Ford Taurus is lucky to be alive.

This after they say she drove into the South Fork of the Snake River Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on Highway 26 near Swan Valley.

ISP says the woman was able to get out of her car and swim to safety. She was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
