RUPERT -- A Rupert man died Friday after his truck was struck by a train Friday morning.
The collision happened at 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of 800 East Road and Idaho 24 in Rupert.
According to the Minidoka County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Ismael Galaviz Victorio was driving south on 800 East Road when he drove across the railroad tracks, failing to stop for the oncoming train.
Victorio was killed in the crash. The collision left debris scattered around the track.
The railroad crossing in that area does not have arms that lower when a train is approaching.
Idaho State Police assisted in the investigation.
