BOISE, Idaho — This might surprise you - apparently Idahoans really love their wine.
According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, Idaho leads the way when it comes to the most wine consumption per capita in the United States.
According to the site, researchers looked primarily at alcohol sales by state between 1977 to 2016.
In 2016, Idahoans drank more than 12 million gallons of wine, about 9 gallons per person over the age of 14.
California took the top spot for overall consumption.
