BOISE, Idaho — The Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in Idaho is now etched in American history.

The U.S. Mint unveiled it's newest quarter Wednesday, featuring the 2.3 million acres of rugged mountains, deep canyons and wild whitewater rivers -- including the Salmon River.

The "tails" side shows a person in a drift boat on the rushing river with trees and rock formations around it.

The area is the largest single connected wilderness in the 48 contiguous states and contains four national forests.

It's part of the Mint's "America the Beautiful" quarters program, which is honoring 56 national parks and other national sites.

Six more quarters will be released by 2020.
