BOISE, Idaho — More than 1,800 Idaho National Guard members from the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team returned home Thursday after a month-long national training exercise in the California desert.
KTVB was there as Idaho's soldiers trained in some of the most realistic training environments possible, as part of the brigade's final training requirement in its four-year training cycle.
Soldiers with Montana, Nevada and Oregon National Guard units also deployed with the 116th.
The brigade is now available for deployment, which could happen as early as next year.
