BOISE -- Idahoans looking for an easy way to help their charity of choice have a perfect opportunity is coming up next week. The 6th annual Idaho Gives will be Thursday, May 3.

You can make a donation to help feed the hungry, fight cancer, rescue pets, support the arts, encourage education, or to whatever worthy cause you like. There are nearly 600 nonprofits to choose from across the state.

The fundraising goal this year is $1.5 million.

The Idaho Nonprofit Center organizes and operates Idaho Gives. President and CEO Amy Little stressed that whatever money is raised here, stays here.

"So the money we raise in all those communities goes right back into those nonprofits almost immediately," Little said.

Besides a small fee, the entire donation will go to your charity of choice.

"There's a tiny transaction fee taken off of it for the credit cards. It's 2.2%," said Little. "And the interesting thing, last year about 70% of our donors actually covered the fee."

Plus, this Sunday morning at 6:30 on Viewpoint, Amy Little discusses how Idaho Gives got started, how it works and what the Idaho Nonprofit Center does.
