GARDEN CITY, Idaho — The Ada County Highway District held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday to celebrate the completion of the West State Street and North Collister Drive intersection project that began last fall.

State Street has been successfully widened and Collister has been realigned to the west with dedicated right and left turn lanes.

Additionally, construction crews have added a new curb, gutter, sidewalk, and bike lanes.

The West State Street and North Pierce Park Lane is the next intersection the Ada County Highway District aims to improve.

Construction on that intersection will begin in winter 2020, according to the Ada County Highway District.

All of these improvements are a part of the State Street Transit and Traffic Operations Plan created by local agencies that wanted to solve some of the transportation issues associated with the east-west corridor.
