CALDWELL — Multiple fire crews worked to put out a two alarm structure fire in Caldwell early Friday morning.
The fire was reported at 6:50 a.m. at an apartment building near 12th Street and Blaine Avenue in Caldwell.
According to the Caldwell Fire Department, the fire spread from the basement to the rest of the three-unit building. The fire caused major damage to the building and residents won't be able to return to it.
Crews deployed ladders to rescue a man from a second-story window, all other residents escaped the building safely. No injuries were reported.
The residents are now being sheltered in nearby hotels, with the assistance from the Caldwell Fire Burnout Fund and the Red Cross.
Crews from the Nampa Fire Department, Middleton Fire District and the Star Fire District assisted the Caldwell Fire Department in responding to the fire.
Investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
