Boise man dies when truck goes over embankment on Highway 21

State police say the man's Dodge pickup rolled about 200 feet down the embankment. He died at the scene.

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho State Police say one person has died in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 21, north of Lucky Peak Reservoir.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say John Wood, 52, of Boise was southbound on Highway 21 in a red 1999 Dodge pickup when he lost control, the truck went off the road and down the embankment.

The truck rolled and landed about 200 feet down the embankment, police say.

Wood died from his injuries at the scene.

Police say he was wearing a seatbelt. 

The crash remains under investigation.
