Emmett man killed after car, tow truck collide on Highway 16

ADA COUNTY, Idaho — An Emmett man has died and three other people were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a tow truck on Idaho Highway 16 at Colton Lane Wednesday evening.

The car was headed north and the tow truck was headed south just before the crash, which is still under investigation.

Ada County deputies and the Star Fire Department began responding at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the car, identified by the coroner as 42-year-old William "Bill" Fuller, Jr., died in the crash.

Paramedics took two juvenile passengers from the car, as well as the tow truck driver, to local hospitals. There is no word on their conditions at this point.

The sheriff's spokesman said that initial information indicates the tow truck driver was not badly injured in the crash.

Highway 16 was blocked in both directions as emergency crews worked in the area, but all lanes were back open by Thursday morning.
