GARDEN CITY -- A deer turned some heads Wednesday night when she decided to take a load off - right in the middle of State Street.
The odd scene unfolded at about 7 p.m. west of Gary Lane.
The doe laid down in the middle of the five lanes, seemingly unbothered by the cars zooming by. After an officer stopped to help, the deer got up and walked to safety, according to witnesses.
