Deputies investigating deadly crash at Star Road intersection

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says one woman died in the crash and another was taken to a local hospital.

BOISE, Idaho — One person is dead and another injured after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Star and Joplin roads this afternoon.

Patrick Orr with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and other emergency responders are on scene.

He says a passenger car was eastbound on Joplin Road and collided with a pickup going south on Star Road at 12:30 p.m. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to go off the road. The truck flipped over.

The intersection is a two-way stop. There is no stop sign at Star Road.

Orr says the female driver of the car died at the scene. The car is badly damaged and crews are working to remove the body from the vehicle.

The female driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area so deputies can complete their investigation and debris can be removed from the road.
