MIDDLETON, Idaho — The Canyon County Coroner's Office has released the name of the man found dead in an irrigation ditch.
The body of 57-year-old Jose Manuel Montiel Sr. of Caldwell was discovered in the water Sunday morning. According to police, the property manager of a nearby trailer park was cleaning out the ditch when he spotted Montiel's remains.
Coroner Jennifer Crawford said an autopsy revealed that Montiel did not drown, but rather died of natural causes related to his health issues.
Investigators are not sure how his body ended up in the water.
The coroner's office was able to rule out any foul play in the man's death.
