EAGLE, Idaho — The City of Eagle announced that they have hired a new police chief.
At Tuesday night's city council meeting, Ada County Sheriff Stephen Bartlett introduced Matt Clifford to the Eagle City Council and the public.
"It is my great honor as your sheriff and the supervisor of your contract to announce to you that we've selected Matt Clifford as the next Chief of Police for the City of Eagle," Bartlett said.
Clifford replaces Pat Calley who announced he was retiring this year.
Clifford grew up in northern Idaho and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in biology.
He has been with the Ada County Sheriff's Office since 2000 and has served in various roles, most recently as a lieutenant.
