Car collides with school bus full of children in Caldwell

Idaho State Police say none of the kids on the bus were hurt in the crash.

Police say the driver of a Ford Fusion was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

CALDWELL, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating an accident involving a school bus and a car that happened in Caldwell this morning.

The crash occurred at 7:27 a.m. at Middleton Road and Quail Cove Court.

Police say the driver of a 2013 Ford Fusion rear-ended the bus, which was loaded with children. The bus is from the Vallivue School District.

According to ISP spokesman Tim Marsano, none of the kids on the bus were injured. He says the nearest school to the crash scene is Skyway Elementary School. It's unclear what school the students riding the bus were going to.

The 32-year-old male driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The front end of the Ford went under the back of the back. The car's airbag did deploy.

No citations have been issued at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
