FAIRFIELD, Idaho — An exciting announcement from Camp Rainbow Gold.

The organization has purchased Soldier Mountain Ranch and Resort in Fairfield in hopes to build Idaho's first medical camp.

The 172 acres will include two oncology camps, a sibling camp and two family retreats.

Camp Rainbow Gold says they are forming a development committee and establishing a master plan for construction and renovation.

The camp is a nonprofit that remains dedicated to its mission of providing emotionally empowering experiences for children diagnosed with cancer.

However, the board realized there are other organizations in the area with similar needs for a medically accommodating camp location.

After a master plan is complete, Camp Rainbow Gold will launch their capital campaign, "A New Place Like Home," to bring the vision to life.
