Caldwell police officer, woman injured in crash

The officer was treated and released from the hospital, and 72-year-old woman was listed in stable condition Sunday night.

CALDWELL - A Caldwell police officer and a 72-year-old woman were both taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries after a crash Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at about 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Street and College Avenue.

Idaho State Police say 72-year-old Margaret Blake of Caldwell was driving east on Maple, and the officer - who has not been identified - was driving south on College when the vehicles collided.

Investigators have not said whether the officer was driving with his lights and sirens on at the time of the crash.

Blake was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. She was listed in stable condition Sunday night.

The officer was treated and released at a local hospital, officials said.

The intersection of Maple and College was blocked for more than an hour and a half while police investigated.

Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
