Boise State tailgating zones approved for this football season

Every year Boise State University must get approval from the State Board of Education to continue to sell alcohol at its football games.

BOISE — On Friday we learned tailgating on game day at Boise State will remain the same for the upcoming football season after the Idaho State Board of Education gave the university its approval Thursday.

Every year Boise State officials have to seek approval from the board to continue selling alcohol in areas like the Stueckle Sky Center.

The university has to provide the board with a summary of incidents that happened the season prior, along with the details of how Boise State handled those incidents.

What's new this year is the university also had to get permission for all of its private tailgating areas, which include the west and east side of the stadium, Cesar Chavez Lane, and DeChevrieux Field.

Boise State Athletic Director Curt Apsey says as far as the fan experience goes nothing will be changing.

Boise State's first home game is September 8 against the University of Connecticut.
