BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County Coroner's Office has released the name of a Boise man killed in an early-morning wreck on Amity Road Friday.

The driver was identified as 49-year-old Terry A. Simmons Jr. Simmons died from blunt force trauma, the coroner ruled.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. near the intersection with Holcomb Road.

According to Boise Police, officers arrived at the scene and found the vehicle had smashed into a power pole alongside the road.

The Ada County Coroner's Office and a crash reconstruction team were called out to the site of the wreck, and Amity Road was closed between Trails End Lane and Holcomb Road as investigators worked, although the road is now back open.

Toxicology tests are pending in the case, and results are expected to take several weeks, according to the coroner's office.

The cause of the crash is unknown, and remains under investigation by Boise Police.

Anyone who saw the wreck happen or has any information is asked to call dispatch at 208-377-6790.
