BOISE, Idaho — A new documentary showcasing a Boise school that is working to reinvent the high school experience premiered Tuesday night at the Egyptian Theatre.
One Stone is an nonprofit independent school in downtown Boise that focuses on student-led learning, creativity and innovation.
The film, "Rise: Voice of a New Generation," documents the journey of students and staff, and highlights the importance of the student voice.
"I think that students have a voice, especially in the educational system and it should be valued because it's their experience," One Stone student Bennett Huhn said. "And when you listen to students, then you're more likely to create an experience that is more conducive to their style of learning."
Tuesday night's premier of "Rise" was sold out, but you can watch the trailer on the One Stone website and find out how to schedule a screening.
School officials say the film will screen in communities across the country.
