BOISE, Idaho — One man is in custody after authorities say he rammed his vehicle into two Idaho State Police cars in Boise Monday afternoon.

Jesse Ray Pina, 28, is facing multiple felony charges in connection to the incident.

ISP told KTVB that Pina hit the cruisers on Liberty Street in Boise, then kept driving, ultimately ditching his own car at the corner of Hill Road and Castle Drive.

No troopers were seriously injured, according to officials. Police released a description of Pina during a search for the suspect, and he was ultimately taken into custody in North Boise later that afternoon.

Pina was booked into the Ada County Jail on three felony charges of aggravated assault, felony eluding, and misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of a crash, resisting and obstructing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

ISP has not released what led up to the crashes, including whether troopers were involved in a pursuit with Pina before the cars were rammed. Court records indicate that he is on probation for grand theft and drug convictions.

Pina appeared in court Tuesday afternoon. A judge set his bond at $500,000.
