BOISE, Idaho — A 70-year-old man is in the Ada County Jail after police say he discharged a firearm inside a residence in Boise County Friday afternoon.

An Idaho State Police SWAT team was called to a home in Crouch around 3 p.m. to assist Boise County deputies.

Initial reports said the man, identified as Terry L. Sims, was firing shots at passing vehicles, but Boise County dispatch said that was not the case. A dispatcher told KTVB the man was apparently upset and began firing off rounds inside the residence. It’s unknown what Sim was angry about or if there were others in the home.

The SWAT team made entry into the home a short time after arriving and arrested Sims.
